Who Are We?
MONDS Automation was born from friendship, expertise, and a shared vision. We're three close friends from Egypt who've built our lives in the Netherlands over the past six years. With nearly 20 years each in the tech industry, we bring complementary skills that make us stronger together: one of us specializes in digital products and IoT services, another brings strategic thinking as a Technical Product Manager, and the third has extensive experience as an Engineering Manager leading various teams and ensuring software quality. Our backgrounds in computer engineering and computer science give us the technical foundation, but it's our aligned values and the joy we find in working together that truly defines MONDS.
How It All Started
The spark for MONDS Automation came from a simple personal need. When we moved to the Netherlands, we started experimenting with home automation—initially to recreate familiar comforts from home, like having Athan playing throughout the house at prayer times. What started as one small project quickly expanded. Lights began adjusting automatically, energy consumption became smarter, and security systems were seamlessly integrated. Every new automation brought excitement, not just for us, but for friends and visitors who experienced it firsthand.
From Passion Project to Business
The turning point came when we noticed a pattern: every friend who visited wanted similar solutions for their own homes. They loved the customization, the thoughtfulness, and the way technology could genuinely improve daily life. That's when we realized we had something special—not just technical skills, but the ability to translate real needs into practical, elegant automation solutions. Starting a business together felt natural. We'd supported each other throughout our careers, and now we had the opportunity to build something meaningful together.
